Cruise liners dock at either the Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC), which is situated on the Harbourfront, and is around a 15 minute drive from the centre of Singapore. Or larger ships dock at the commercial port which is around 30 minutes from town.

If not part of an organised excursion, passengers can take a shuttle service into the centre which drops them at the Orchard Road shopping area. In order to get around Singapore the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is the best form of transport.
Passengers with just a day to explore Singapore should try to see Chinatown and its historical streets and alleyways, the Sri Mariamman Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in the city, and the Botanical Gardens featuring rare orchids.
Raffles Hotel is a famous landmark and Parliament House and Mount Faber are often included on a shore excursion. Visitors can also take a Singapore River cruise from Boat Quay.
