The area surrounding the port of Puerto Vallerta in Mexico is a mixture of high class hotels and narrow streets. The cruise terminal and marina are found at one end of the 625 mile long Bandaras Bay – close to chic designer shops, art galleries and restaurants.
Passengers on a day trip can play golf at a nearby course, or cruise to the charming fishing villages of Yelapa and Las Animas with their beautiful beaches. There is also the option to take a jeep safari around the hills which provide a backdrop to the town. Puerto Vallarta is also considered to be one of Mexico’s best dive destinations – cruise passengers are highly recommended to spend a day wall diving, exploring caves and reefs under the guidance of professional guides. Las Caletas, Marietas Islands, El Morro and Los Arcos are popular dive sites close by.
