Puerto Limon shore excursions
Cruise passengers on a trip to Puerto Limon in Costa Rica are conveniently placed for shore excursions because the port is located within walking distance of town. Passengers looking for relaxing beaches are also in luck with Playa Bonita Beach just 4 km distant and surfing conditions are known to be good.
A good idea for a shore excursion from the port is to take a panga trip up the Tontuguero Canal, which allows passengers to experience the coastal scenes and wildlife along the way, including bats, water plants and birds. Cruisers who have the time for an all day excursion can visit San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital city, and this is a journey of around 100 km. Other guided tours could include the Rain Forest Ariel Tramway – an exciting ride through the rain forest canopy or a trip white water rafting on the Reventazon River.
