P&O calls its Pacific Sun cruise ship “Australia’s favorite cruise ship”. It was launched originally as Carnival Cruise Lines cruise ship Jubilee from 1986 to 2004 when it was transferred to P&O Cruises Australia and renamed to Pacific Sun. The Pacific Sun cruises from Queensland around Australia and also to the South Pacific. The cruise ship still maintained some features from its Carnival Cruise days which include the two decks tall water slide and the numerous lounges and bars on the Promenade deck, two swimming pools and two open-air whirlpools.
It underwent a re-fit in 2008, which includes several denoting changes, first of which the exterior of the ship was painted all white to match the Pacific Dawn, its sister ship.
The latest on board facilities include a new ocean-view gym built on deck 10; the old gym was turned into a relaxation room for the Lotus Spa. They also added a dedicated coffee shop, the library is refurbished and altered into a steak house for a more affectionate and special dining experience.
