The Norwegian Star along with its sister ship the Norwegian Sun, is the first cruise ship that was custom built with the “Freestyle Cruising” specifically in mind. They were both launched in 2001.

The Norwegian Star has 15 decks, a crew of 1,100 and a capacity for 2,240 passengers. It anchors in Los Angeles and travels to Alaska and the Mexican Riviera.
It has newly expanded kids’ and teen facilities, a huge pool with two fun curly slides and hot tubs at either end, as well as the lush Mandara spa with an indoor lap pool. Other ship activities include basketball, horseshoes, ping-pong, volleyball, two golf cages, video arcade and Movie Theater. Your dinning choices are vast with 16 definite dinning alternatives, 12 bars and lounges, plus a vast range of staterooms, villas and suites. All in all the Norwegian Star is a family friendly ship that will keep everyone entertained whether you are on board or off on shore.
