The Port of Milford Sound is situated on the South West coast of New Zealand’s south island. Ships have to navigate a narrow waterway of around 13 km in order to reach the port, and passengers will be able to see Elephant Rock on the way in. Once docked, passengers can enjoy a stroll around the shops in the local area which sell souvenirs and local works of art. Canoeing and Kayaking are popular activities close to port and equipment can be hired nearby. Visitors can also do a spot of dolphin watching from the nearby vantage points. Passengers who enjoy hiking will not be disappointed in the Chasm – a 22 metre deep rock formation which was created by the waterfalls of the Cleddau River. Sutherland Falls, which takes around 45 minutes to climb, are almost 2000 feet high – the fifth highest falls in the world.
