Port Lucaya is around a ten minute drive from the city of Freeport, and is around a 25 minute drive from Lucaya itself. Taxis are available at the harbour side or there are many organised tours and activities on offer for cruise passengers.
Nature lovers can opt for an excursion which takes in Ben’s Cave – the longest underwater cave system leading out to sea., or walk to Gold Rock Beach along the boardwalk. Many tours also take in Lucayan National Park, with a host of native species of birds – as well as 20 miles of white sandy beaches.
Certain tours offer the opportunity to swim with dolphins or go snorkelling and scuba diving. Lucaya offers comprehensive shopping facilities and restaurants around Count Basie Square. Passengers can enjoy a game of golf at the Lucayan and Reef courses, hire a jet ski, or wander around Port Lucaya Marketplace.
