The port is conveniently located for exploring the city with many attractions located within walking distance. Places recommended a visit include the Lisbon Oceanarium , the Maritime Museum and the Jeronimos Monastery – final resting place of Vasco de Gama.
The Castelo de Sao Jorge is also well worth a trip, since it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the River Tagus, and the medieval quarter of Lisbon. Cruise passengers can buy a 24 hour ticket which gives reduced admission to most of the attractions, from tourist offices.
