The port of Kudasi is ideally placed for passengers who wish to enjoy a trip ashore since it’s an easy walk to shops and Goveroin Ada (Pidgeon Island) as well as many beaches. Just across from the port is a small island which can be accessed via footbridge – Guvntcin Adasi.
This walled fort has a museum which is well worth visiting. Ephesus is a place many passengers head off to on a shore excursion and this is around 30 minutes from the port. Ephesus was a powerful city in ancient times, and ruled by Cleopatra.
The ruins include the Temple of Artemis – one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the Library of Celsus. In fact, there are 30 buildings which can be visited at this site including a Roman Amphitheatre. Other places to visit on a day excursion include Priene which is featurint the famous Athena Temple.
