Haifa Port in Israel is the gateway to the Galilee region and all its associated biblical sites to the east of the city, as well as the spectacular city of Akko.
Mount Hermon and the Golan Heights are also easily accessible on a shore excursion. Haifa Port is conveniently located right in the centre of the city with a railway station adjacent. Trains to Akko (30 minutes) and Tel Aviv (75 minutes) run from here. Carmel is the main shopping and restaurant district of Haifa, accessible via the Carmelit.
From the port passengers can easily walk to the German Templar Colony, visit the famous Baha’i Gardens or spend time on the nearby Bat Galim beach, a favourite with surfers. Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee is a long but popular day trip from Haifa taking in the River Jordan, taking in many well known religious sites.
