Georgetown Wharf is the port for Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands – cruise liners often have to drop anchor outside the port and passengers must make the tender ride to the wharf.
Once transferred passengers immediately have shopping facilities at their disposal – from duty free perfumes and cosmetics to china and crystal. Georgetown is quite small and passengers only need an hour to get round, after which the beach is usually the next stop.
7 Mile Beach features white sandy shores and clear tropical water – perfect for snorkelling or scuba diving in. Passengers can also opt for a trip in a submarine from the Atlantis Submarine Centre, just a five minute walk from the port.
This trip takes allows visitors fantastic views of an underwater shipwreck before heading off for Cheeseburger Reef where a diver will feed the tropical fish.
