Port Everglades, which is the port of Fort Lauderdale is an embarkation and disembarkation point for millions of passengers every year on a Caribbean cruise. Passengers who are on limited time for a trip ashore can visit John U. Lloyd Beach State Recreation area which is located just across from the port. This is a great place to watch the cruise liners going in and out of the port. There is a popular beach which is home to sea turtles and Manatees close by too.

Other shopping facilities can be found at the Sawgrass Mills Mall on Sunrise Boulevard. The Museum of Discovery and Science, the Museum of Art and Butterfly World are attractions worth a visit.
