Edinburgh shore excursions

Leith Port is an historic port which has been revamped over recent years and makes an excellent stopping off point for passengers on a cruise.

Edinburgh is just a ten minute taxi or bus ride away, and can be accessed on foot in around 30 minutes or so.

If time is limited it pays to take a guided excursion of the city – and highlights are sure to include Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street with its famous shopping facilities, the Palace of Holyrood house, which is the official royal residence, and St Giles’ Cathedral.

 

The Scotch Whiskey Heritage Centre is another option to include on a shore excursion – where you can sample the various malts. The Port of Leith is home to the Royal yacht Britannia and passengers can take a tour if this famous ship, or enjoy the shops at Ocean Terminal. Plus, Leith also has many trendy restaurants and bars.
