Cozumel cruise port is located on Mexico’s Yukatan Peninsula, and the area is renowned for its scuba diving and snorkelling opportunities, as well as peerless Caribbean beaches. Liners dock at the west side of the Island, close to San Miguel with its many restaurants, shops and nightlife – the perfect place for sipping a Margarita, and people-watching.
The journey into San Miguel depends on where your ship has docked and varies from half an hour to under ten minutes by taxi. There are many types of shore excursions to choose from including snorkelling with angel fish in Yai Ku Lagoon, swimming with loggerhead sea turtles at Akumal beach or taking a trip on an Atlantis submarine or glass bottomed boat. The island also has some fascinating Mayan ruins worth visiting at San Gervasio, or passengers can obtain a pass to Chankanaab National Marine Park which features a private beach.
