Cruise liners on a tour of the Mediterranean may drop passengers off at the commercial port of Antalya in Turkey for a shore excursion – the port being around a 25 minute drive from Antalya itself.
On a guided day excursion passengers can expect to visit Antalya Museum, located at Perge, which is home to artefacts recovered from the ancient city of Parnphylia, as well as marble reliefs and carvings from around the world.
Aspendos can also be visited on an organised tour of the area – this has one of the best preserved Roman Theatres in Anatolia. The Manavgat Waterfalls and the Kursunlu Waterfalls are also well worth seeing.
In Antalya passengers can shop at the flea markets and boutiques in the Old walled City or enjoy wandering around its narrow cobblestone streets. There are many restaurants overlooking the Old Harbour – perfect for enjoying a leisurely lunch during a shore excursion.
